Summary

The early stages of stroke recovery can seem like climbing a mountain all day, every day, but it does get easier. I can see, I can speak, I can read and write, I can walk (albeit in a clumsy fashion) and, from time to time with some pain, especially when my muscles aren't cooperating with my bones. This is the story of my recovery.

Description

The early stages of stroke recovery can seem like climbing a mountain all day, every day, but it does get easier as the days, weeks, months and years march on. I can see, I can speak, I can read and write, I can walk (albeit in a clumsy fashion) and, from time to time with some pain, especially when my muscles aren't cooperating with my bones.I decided to write this book on a lovely winter day while out with my support worker. I thought to myself The Winter Sun would make a good title for a book and would nicely describe how I felt about my recovery – the good and the bad, the incredible highs and the soul-destroying lows. I thought this book may help others in their own recovery.I have researched as many ways as possible to speedup my recovery. Some of these methods are a little 'out of the box' but there are more conventional methods that I swear by. I hope that my experiences will allow others to help themselves and/or loved ones achieve the best results by making their daily workouts varied, enjoyable and effective.
